PORTSMOUTH — Portsmouth police — working in conjunction with State Police troopers and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force — arrested a wanted man and a woman at the Motel 6 early this morning, according to police.
Portsmouth Police Sgt. Christopher Kiberd said the U.S. Marshall’s Service notified Portsmouth police that they believed a wanted man, Michael Vincent Polchies, 33, last known address of Somersworth, was staying at the Motel 6. Kiberd described Polchies as “believed to be armed and dangerous.”
Four Portsmouth officers, two troopers and about seven members of the fugitive task force arrived at the hotel at about 6:30 a.m., Kiberd said.
Polchies and Kristen Temple, 31, no known address, had locked themselves in the room, but members of the task force quickly made their way into the room and arrested the pair without further incident, Kiberd said.
Polchies was wanted on a parole violation for a conviction on possession or sale of drugs, Kiberd said.
The suspects were handed over to deputies from the Strafford County Sheriff’s Department and both are being held without bail, Kiberd said.
Police are conducting a search of the hotel room now for possible future charges. Kiberd acknowledged one of the things they’ll be looking for in the room is illegal drugs.
Police diverted traffic in the area of Gosling Road while they took the suspects into custody.- See more at: http://www.seacoastonline.com/article/20140926/NEWS/140929459#sthash.DGAydebo.dpuf
